At Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, we believe that everything we have is a gift from God. In Jesus Christ, you have already received the greatest gift, His forgiveness, life, and salvation.

Christian giving is not about earning God’s favor. Christ has already done that for you. Giving is simply a response of faith, supporting the ongoing proclamation of the Gospel and the care of our neighbors.

Why Do Christians Give?

We give because Christ has first given to us.

God does not need our gifts, but our neighbor does. Through the Church, God provides for the preaching of His Word, the administration of His Sacraments, and the care of His people.

Giving is not a transaction. It is not a way to earn blessings or secure God’s favor. In Christ, you already have every spiritual blessing.

Instead, giving is:

  • A response to grace, not a requirement for it
  • A participation in Christ’s ongoing work in the world
  • A fruit of faith, shaped by the Holy Spirit

We give not reluctantly or under compulsion, but in freedom, because Christ has set us free.

A Life of Discipleship

As we grow in discipleship, we learn to receive and to give.

We receive everything from Christ, His Word, His promises, His mercy.
And in our daily vocations, we are given opportunities to live out that faith in love toward others.

Supporting the ministry of Holy Trinity is one way we participate in that life together, trusting that God is at work through His Church.
